Modern infrared sensors and thermal imaging cameras enable the identification of people, objects and infrastructure even in complete darkness. Shieldex develops multispectral shielding materials to reduce thermal and electromagnetic signatures.

The metallised textiles provide high reflectivity in the wavelength range of 780 nm to 20,000 nm, enabling targeted infrared and thermal shielding and minimising detectability in security-critical applications.

The materials can be integrated into combat uniforms, ghillie suits and sleeping bags. Furthermore, they are suitable for passive camouflage devices such as tents, ponchos and vehicle covers.

In military infrastructure applications, the shielding materials are also used in Mobile Command Posts (MCP) and other protective textile system solutions where reduction of thermal signatures is required.

Shieldex provides standard materials as well as customised solutions including after-sales services such as repair, adaptation and modification.

High Conductive Yarns
We have developed High Conductive (HC) yarns especially for the field of electrically and thermally conductive textiles and their applications, which rely on a special conductivity of textiles. Due to an increased silver content in the individual filaments of the multifilament yarns and its twisting, we are able to produce extremely good resistance values (up to <30 Ω/m) for an optimal connection with electronic devices.

Our partial metallization technology enables us to map customer-specific, freely selectable shapes of sensors, antenna systems, bus line systems, heating coils and capacitive sensors onto flexible, stretchable material and integrate them into customer applications.
