Universal testing machine inspekt table

The testing machine series inspekt table was developed for standard-compliant materials and component testing in the medium load range, with particular attention paid to reliability and flexibility. It is ideally suited for materials testing of plastics or non-ferrous metals as well as for testing smaller components, for example from instrument engineering.

In combination with our user-friendly testing software LabMaster, standard-based and customer-specific tests can be easily implemented. Testing machine, testing software and our extensive range of accessories such as specimen grips and testing tools, extensometers or temperature control devices are optimally matched to each other and offer the ideal testing system for a wide variety of testing applications (tensile tests, compression tests, bending tests, peel tests,...).

Inspekt table is available in six different load levels from 10 kN to 250 kN. On request, the testing machines of the inspekt table series can be equipped with a second test area. They are available as floor-standing or table-top versions, depending on the requirements of the workplace.

Advantages and features of the universal testing machines inspekt table

Modern and flexible load frame design for various applications

  • Load frame extremely variable in height and width → optimal adaptation to different specimen and component sizes
  • Connection of peripheral devices (e.g. furnaces, temperature chambers) and additional measuring and control channels (e.g. extensometers, measuring probes, optical sensors) possible

Innovative construction guarantees highest measuring precision

  • Use of backlash-free precision ball screws with larger diameter (preloaded in aluminium support profiles) and special nut system
    → Precise load transmission
    → High lateral force stability
    → Increased axial rigidity
  • Brushless AC drive for static material testing as well as for alternating and continuous loads

Innovative control electronics for maximum measurement resolution & extensive functionality

Universal testing machine inspekt solo 2.5 kN

The universal testing machine inspekt solo is a very lightweight testing machine, which has been designed for simple standard tests or customer-specific, more challenging tests. It stands out due to its convincing cost/performance ratio and the user-friendly manner of operation. In connection with the testing software LabMaster, inspekt solo universal testing machines can determine material characteristics of wires, foam plastics, elastomers, plastics, paper, cardboard, textiles, foodstuffs, and components in a quick and easy way.

The Inspekt solo for test loads up to 2.5kN is a further development of the successful inspekt mini series for standard-compliant material and component testing in the low load range. In order to be able to better represent the wide range of requirements for this machine series, new technological possibilities have been exploited. Instead of DC motors, a new drive concept with stepper motors was developed - brushless, low-wear and noise-optimised.

Fields of application

The universal testing machine inspekt solo is a particularly light materials testing machine for determining the material characteristics of:

  • Wire,
  • Foams,
  • Elastomers,
  • Plastics,
  • Paper,
  • Cardboard,
  • Dry goods,
  • Groceries,
  • Structural components

This user-friendly materials testing machine enables simple standard tests as well as customer-specific tests at a convincing price/performance ratio. The test software LabMaster enables a faster and reliable determination of the results.

Depending on the application, the inspekt solo series is available in three different test chamber heights. The "S" version is ideal for cyclic compression tests on dental implants, while the "L" version can be used for peel tests on adhesion surfaces or tensile tests on elastomers.

Furthermore, the tensile testing machines of the inspekt solo series can be manufactured in horizontal design, which simplifies specimen handling for specific applications or, under certain conditions, allows tensile testing in liquid media.

Load frame

The universal testing machine inspekt solo is offered in a load frame design of 2.5 kN. The crosshead is driven by a brushless motor and a backlash-free preloaded recirculating ball screw.

Load measurement

The inspekt solo ensures reliable force measurement by means of a strain gauge force transducer. This is equipped with sensor plugs which automatically recognize the setting and calibration parameters. In addition, the materials testing machine has special measuring electronics that guarantee class 1 measuring accuracy in accordance with DIN EN ISO 7500-1 in the range from 0.2 to 100% of the nominal load. Alternatively, Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH offers an optional measuring accuracy of 0.5 for the universal testing machine inspekt solo.

Shear frame testing system for tensile load on textile semi-finished products and fibre-reinforced composites

Application

  • Investigation of dry textiles and textile-reinforced plastics (e.g. prepregs or organosheets) with different types of bonding

By using the shearing device and evaluating of the shear force vs. shear angle diagrams it is possible to make statements about the expected deformability of materials. These are relevant for example for draping, which is a manufacturing process where flat semi-finished products are applied to curved surfaces.

Use

  • Characterization of material properties at different temperatures
  • Determination of the parameters limit angle and critical shear angle
  • Optimization of manufacturing processes by evaluation of material behavior

Advantages

  • Efficient clamping, so that the specimens do not slip out of the grips and no damage occurs at the transition to the clamping area
  • Application of defined preloads up to 200 N
  • Low-friction mechanics under all ambient conditions for high measuring accuracy
  • High stiffness and strength

Test description

In the shear test, pure shear is achieved by attaching a square specimen to a shear frame, clamping it at the opposite edges and deforming it into a rhombus up to a defined displacement. The force curve over the entire stroke is recorded. The shear angle can then be calculated from the change in length of the diagonal.

The critical shear angle and the limit angle are usually used to evaluate the shear behaviour.

To determine the limit angle, the shear force shear angle curve is divided into a linear and a non-linear zone. The limit angle is defined at the transition from the linear to the non-linear range.
