Among polyurethane foams, polyether foams are known for their comfort, elastic properties and good resistance to hydrolysis. For over 30 years they have been used for mattresses, pillows, seat cushions and car interiors. Polyether foams are also used for technical applications such as thermal and acoustic insulation, gaskets and cavity filling. They are available in various colours, densities, and hardness, with specific technical properties for various applications. Toscana Gomma has developed a broad family of polyethers than can be flame and glue laminated, with a regular cellular structure (comparable to polyester foams) and controlled air permeability, particularly suitable for the automotive sector.

Toscana Gomma’s moulded products are mainly applied in car seats. State of the art manufacturing technologies used by Toscana Gomma give the finished seats a sculptural profile and optimal seat comfort, thanks to the possibility to have differentiated hardness in the same moulded part. Toscana Gomma offers its clients foams that can be customised in shape and hardness, with density varying between 35 and 100 kg/m3.

Polyester foams are an important family of polyurethane foams. They have a regular cell structure, are suitable for hot converting processes such as thermoforming and have excellent shock absorption capacity. They can be bounded to fabrics, artificial leather and other substrates by flame lamination technology and have a good resistance to organic solvents. Toscana Gomma has developed an extensive range of polyester foams for the automotive industry, both in terms of technical requirements, such as physical and mechanical properties and resistance to ageing, and in terms of emissions and fire resistance according to the needs of major OEMs.
