OUR HISTORY
1958: Founded by Jak Papo as one of the first circular knitting productions in Turkiye.
1972: Became the first synthetic leather backing manufacturer in Turkiye.
1980: Safak became a fully integrated “yarn to end product” operation with the acquisition of in-house dyeing.
1993: Established state of the art finishing line to meet customer’s synthetic leather coating needs.
2009: Moved all factory operations to a new, and current, location inaugurating a new chapter of growth and transformation for Safak based on Industry 4.0 concepts.
2012: Safak in collaboration with Nike produced fully recycled textiles for shoes in the London Summer Olympics.
2020: Developed new production line for CoriumTM,a water-based multi-function microfiber.
2023: Initiated efforts to perform LCA and carbon-footprint calculations on a corporate level and also on a product basis.

Safak Technical Textile, a third-generation textile business founded in 1958
Founded and headquartered in Istanbul in 1958, Safak is a family-owned third generation manufacturer of technical textiles.
Our products provide superior technical properties and consistent quality primarily for synthetic leather PU-PVC coating, PU coagulation, lamination, particularly in the automotive market, where Safak is in collaboration with major suppliers of the European OEMs.
