Our Mono-Yarns are single-type yarns that always consist of a PES core, which may also be high-tenesity, and a coating of the same type of plastic.

We have developed Mono-Yarns for two reasons.

• Firstly, to enable optimal bonding of a fabric produced with this yarn to another PES material.
• Secondly, to enable the product manufactured with it to be easily and completely recycled (in accordance with SPI Code 1 - PET).

The manufacture of recyclable and therefore sustainable Mono-Yarns is the subject of current development projects, as there is high demand for this in numerous industries.

Thanks to our experience and precise control of all process parameters, we are able to produce yarns in which the core and the sheathing have similar melting points.

Until now, only black and white Mono-Yarns have been requested, but developments with colors are possible, as is the production of a transparent or flame-retardant coating.

Bislang sind die bio-basierten und -abbaubaren Ummantelungen nur mit natürlichem Farbton verfügbar, jedoch sind farbige Varianten durchaus möglich.

For example, cores made of high-performance plastics such as UH-MWPE, aramid, or carbon can be used to produce yarns with very high tensile strength. For these yarns very often standard plastics are used for the coating. However, also recycled or bio-based plastics are suitable.

Transparent monofilaments are often used in combination with a transparent PU- coating for completely transparent yarns. In addition to this visual effect, these yarns have a very good haptic as well as an excellent abrasion and UV resistance.

Customers often provide us with special cores, e.g., made of glass, basalt, or metal, which we then coat with plastic according to specific requirements. For example, electrically conductive yarns can be produced with a metal core, or non-stretchable yarns with a glass core.

For our standard yarns, we use PES or PA as the core, which is also available in high-tenesity versions for improved strength. PES is often preferred because it is more cost-effective and temperature-resistant.

PU is mostly used as the coating because it has very good abrasion and UV resistance and offers the greatest variability in terms of appearance (color, gloss level) and feel (soft touch). It can also be used for transparent, luminescent, or flame-retardant effects.

As a more cost-effective alternative, we offer PVC as a coating, which is also very abrasion-resistant, UV-resistant, and flame-retardant. If PVC is not desired, PE/PP can be used as an alternative, especially if the yarn is to be bonded with other PE/PP materials.

We manufacture yarns with a PC coating for textiles that are hot-pressed. Varrious TPE-types were chosen as coatings for particularly good aging resistance and special bonding with other TPE materials.
