About us

Perlon® – The Filament Company – is an innovative, global group of companies specialized in the manufacture of synthetic filaments. We operate from locations in Germany, Poland, China, India and in the USA. Through our technical expertise and strength in innovation we develop premium quality products for our customers. Our comprehensive product portfolio is based on a variety of raw materials. In line with the intended application, these are modified and processed into high quality, application-specific filaments. The consistent high quality of our products sets worldwide benchmarks. We offer an extremely wide-ranging product portfolio for almost every technical application. We constantly create new solutions for unique products – developed today for the markets of tomorrow.

The recent acquisition of Shaun Filaments, a renowned Indian filament manufacturer, not only offers the opportunity to strengthen our market presence, but also to expand capacity and improve production processes. The Perlon® plant in Goa will play a key role in the production of synthetic filaments for various industries, including paper, technical textiles, brushes, cosmetics and dental care.

Sustainability is an integral part of the Perlon® business strategy. Through various measures including our GreenLine product brand, we are actively working to reduce our carbon footprint.

The Perlon® Group is divided into four business segments:

High-Quality Monofilaments:   Monofilament for paper machine clothing (PMC) and Advanced Technical Textiles (ATT)

Technical Brush Filaments:          Synthetic and abrasive filaments for technical brushes

Personal Care Filaments:             Filaments for dental and personal care

Thermoplastic Regranulates:      Recycling

Perlon® is part of the diversified Serafin Group, whose philosophy goes back to the 150-year entrepreneurial tradition of the shareholder family.
