INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS DEVELOPED BY THE CTT GROUP FOR THE INDUSTRY
At CTT Group we develop innovative products for the industry.
For Techtextile 2024, we are showcasing two innovations developed by our experts for industrial partners. More info available at our booth Hall 11.0 #A18.
Product 1: VEGETECH, Biosourced material as a replacement for leather
To wear nature without resorting to animals, this is the motivation behind Vegetal Alternatives initiative to develop, in collaboration with CTT Group, a sustainable plant-based alternative to leather with performances that match cow hides, including moisture vapor transmission.
Vegetech is made of extracts from three plants: Ricinus (castor seed oil), Hevea (natural rubber) and Soya (oil).

Product 2: FLAURA, Apple by-products transformed into a material replacing natural leather
Flaura plant-based leather offers an eco-responsible option for the fashion and furnishings sectors.
The current color palette includes classic basics such as black and brown.
Various textures and weaves are available.
CTT, at the heart of the matter.

PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES
With the Sustainable Development Goals in mind, the CTT team of experts developed research projects focused on processes that have a low impact carbon footprint, reduce the water consumption, lower energy needs. Few projects are CTT-owned, some others are with industrial partners.
- Photopolymerization is particularly interesting as it requires light source with low energy consumption (LED) and is easy to manipulate. The water consumption is non-significant and sample handling highly easy.
- Supercritical CO2 dyeing and finishing is also a process to be managed by CTT in North America. With a production technology that is proven effective with polyester fibers, a lot of opportunities for other textile materials are considered for many application.
- With the needs of new fibers with low carbon footprint, wet spinning technology is also targeted by CTT as a new way to produce fibers, particularly with bio-sourced polymers.
- A nonwoven hybrid machine airlaid /needlepunch with its card and cross lapper is also planned to be received in 2024.
- Additionally, to these processes, CTT is equipped with lab-scale prototyping machines, with some of them designed to process carbon fibers:
- Yarn spinning: mini card-drawframe-ringspinning machine;
- Loom 50 cm wide
- Narrow fabric jacquard loom
- Knitting fully fashion
- Finishing line 50cm wide
- Needle punch nonwoven machine
- TFP / embroidery
- Extrusion line

GEOSYNTHETICS EXPERTIZE
One of the most efficient Geosynthetic lab in the world, under our brand SAGEOS, we support the geosynthetic industry in the development of new ways to evaluate materials, qualify products, and development of products.
Our laboratories cover testing capacities for Geotextiles, Geomembranes, GCL, drainage pipes, Geo-nets, Geocomposites, Geogrids, Geocells, Geofoams, Synthetic turf, Anti-erosion fences, Vertical Drains (PVD) (“Prefabricated Vertical Drain”)… for many applications and needs such as Environmental engineering, landfills, Mining industry and energy production, Road construction, Infrastructures and Civil Engineering, Building, Agriculture, Horticulture, Canals, Dams and Dikes, Earthworks, Landscaping, Synthetic turf, Sports fields, Playgrounds, Aqueducts and water management…

EXPERTIZE & TRAINING
As a group of experts, CTT has the capacity to support many needs from textile related industry:
- Evaluation of technical specifications for textile materials: selection of test methods, identification of the performance criteria for pass/fail decision.
- Defect analysis: for the identification of root cause for defects (origin from the yarn, knit, dyeing and finishing…) delamination problem…
- Technological watch: development of a new project related to raw material or processing starts to a deep knowledge in the field of manufacturing technology.
- Training On-Demand: many training sessions exist around the world, we do on-demand training to support your own needs, and answer your questions.
