Our Coated Yarns Industrial range includes yarns with cores of different nature such as, but not limited to:

which are covered in extrusion by coating with different thermoplastic materials:

• Co-Polyamide low melt, known for its high adhesive power and broadly used for fabric stabilization, it is also compatible with Epoxy resin. The variety we use is proudly derived from bio, renewable sources, in full compliance with our attention for the environment; Polyester low melt, which can be melted at low temperatures and easily bonded with other fibers; Polyamide 12, with high resistance to abrasion and chemical agents; Peek, a superpolymer with melting temperatures above 300 ° C, used in the world of composites thanks to its unique mechanical properties; Polypropilene, due to its great compatibility with rubber; EVA, broadly used by virtue of its very low melting point and excellent adhesion properties; TPU, which features excellent resistance to abrasion, oils and fats, weather, wear and tear, light, solvents, therefore being an excellent multifaceted choice for a broad number of applications, and many other materials. Ageing stability and lightfastness are a given.

All of the above being available in a variety of customizable counts and core diameters, we also developed varieties with extreme resistance to abrasion and Flame Retardant properties. Depending on the final application and Customers’ specifications, we are able to design coated yarns with unique features, such as resistance to alkali, sea water, UV rays and much more: all in all, the combination of core and coat allows for customized, high performance solutions.

Our coated yarns are based on different core fibres, usually covered with polymeric materials in order to enhance their functional properties and make the end product suitable for a variety of fields, including Composites, Military, fabrics aimed at the structural reinforcement of buildings and infrastructures, Cables, Nets, Ropes, Workwear, Transportation and Telecommunications Industries.

Especially our CopaGlass yarns (eglass cores coated with CoPolyamide lowmelt, available in various counts) are the perfect solutions for fabrics stabilisation and reinforcement of Unidirectional, multiaxial fabrics and meshes (either in glass, carbon, steel, aramid or even basalt…), thanks to the compatibility of our CoPa with all kinds of resins used in the curing process and the complete nonshrinkage effect on the fabrics.

A new developed coated yarn, made with a core in aramid fiber coated with a unique and specifically created resin.

This coated Aramid can be used to create drapable fabrics, ready for consolidation and thermomoulding, as an alternative to wet resin systems, with shorter curing time and a precise control on fabric weight and thickness. It can be stored at room temperature, with longer shelf life, compared to commonly used resins in ballistic applications.

This translates into immediate advantage in terms of weaving process with cost and time efficiency.

It can be successfully used for defense, ballistics, protection, safevests, composites for armour, and other highly technical and performing textiles.

TPU Evolution® is our 100% Italian made and 100% Recyclable coated yarn, with a coating in high quality Thermoplastic Polyurethane. It can give life to countless applications, including knitted and protective garments, accessories, outerwear, sportswear and shoes, technical industrial wear, bags, suitcases, indoor and outdoor furniture, and also finds uses in the heavier industry and automotive sectors.

Available in many versions and counts, TPU Evolution® generates different effects on the fabric depending on the type of finishing chosen. After the finishing process, the easy-to-cut fabric guarantees the dimensional stability of the product, as well as optimum breathability before reaching the waterproof stage.

TPU Evolution® is UV stable and enhances colors, it is sensationally soft to the touch, and shows an excellent resistance to abrasion, hydrolysis, microbial attack, solvents, oils and fats.

It is also thermal moldable, one of the many reasons why a single product can give life spectacular and diversified effects applicable to the most varied sectors.

Tpu Evolution® Classic version is available in counts range from 330 dtex to 930 dtex and can be tailored to your specific needs - because the specific weight of TPU polyurethane modifies the total weight of the yarn, the final count cannot be compared to other fibers.

Tpu Evolution® High Abrasion version enhances an even higher and amazing resistance to abrasion, mainly developed for safety, shoes, outdoor garments, furniture, car interiors, accessories. It is available in 3100 dtex count.

TPU Evolution® roughly translates into half its count when compared to other fibers. Water-free coloured, solvent free and produced with zero waste aim, TPU Evolution® is OEKO-TEX certified, standard 100 Class 1.
