3D Knit
Description
- Knit-to-fit Technology
- Seamless shapes
- Self-supported structures
- 3-dimensional surfaces
- Soft Goods, Office Furniture, Lighting
Advanced seamless 3D knitting utilizes varying knit structures and density in a single piece. The ability to knit built-in cushioning, strength, stretch, breathability, and durability makes it ideal for self-supported furniture and product design. 3D knit textiles allow standalone, foam-free structures that are lightweight, resilient, and highly adaptable when integrated with tubular elements, molded frames, or wooden supports. We develop these self-supporting innovations in virtually any shape or form. Unlike traditional cut-and-sew method, this zero-waste approach via flat-bed knitting minimizes material loss and post-production assembly, enhancing sustainability while enabling custom 3D geometries for technical and creative applications. With material options including synthetics, natural fibers, and or high-performance types, we offer prototyping to full-scale manufacturing.
This technology applies especially well to technical soft goods (including backpacks, speakers, footwear) medical and protective textiles, seating, and lighting.
