Air Textured Yarn

A type of hybrid textured yarn created by the air-jet texturing process is called air-textured yarn (ATY). A cold air stream is used in the air-jet texturing technique, which is entirely mechanical, to provide bulked yarns with a spun touch and warmth. The air-textured yarns' physical qualities and appearance are quite similar to those of spun yarns. Given that it can combine different types of filaments, the air-jet texturing procedure is by far the most adaptable of all the yarn texturing techniques.

One of the most flexible techniques for texturing yarn is air texturing, which combines different filament yarn types. False twist textured yarn's synthetic hand can be perfectly replaced by air-textured yarn (ATY). It gives the materials a brand-new, contemporary look.

The air-textured yarn has persistent crimps and loops and is quite bulky. Twisting is not essential because the filament interlacing in the jet can seal the loops into the yarn. The crucial properties of air-textured yarns include loop frequency, loop size, loop stability, and physical bulk.

Applications for ATY include tufting machines, flat knitting, circular knitting, and weaving. ATY yarns are ideal for use in carpet, upholstery, and clothing applications.
