ProDry: Dry Rate Tester
The ProDry is James Heal's simple to use drying rate tester with advanced TestWise software that automatically sets up the parameters of the test, finds the end point and provides realtime presentation of results.
Quick-drying is an important attribute of textiles worn next to the skin, during work, sporting or other activities, where the skin is likely to perspire. ProDry replicates the conditions to verify the quick-drying fabrics are performing effectively.
Testing on ProDry used in conjunction with the James Heal WickView, gives a complete picture of the performance of a fabric's moisture management.
There are options to add to the number of data points, adjust temperatures and customise configurations for bespoke testing. Multiple fans, an air filter and positioning of air flow sensors provide consistent air flow which is measured and controlled by an integrated airflow sensor.
Visit the James Heal stand to see a demo of ProDry, or learn more about testing on our website https://www.jamesheal.com/instrument/prodry

AirPro: Air Permeability Tester
AirPro is a consistent and accurate air permeability tester, used to test the resistance of the flow of air through woven, knitted, nonwoven and technical textile materials. It is supplied with TestWise software, making it intuitive and easy to use.
AirPro can be used on a variety of applications, including performance apparel, medical textiles, PPE, infant products such as bedding, nonwovens, geotextiles and more.
The James Heal AirPro incorporates intuitive TestWise software with a 7" touchscreen, allows the user to choose a pre-loaded standard or create a customised test. Reports can be viewed on the instrument and exported to Excel of PDF files.
Other features include quick change test heads for faster testing and efficiency, and a large illuminated test bed to accommodate larger samples, suitable for a wide range of textile test applications.
Quality of the instrument and parts used provide consistency in testing and an increased lifespan for the product. Lean more on the James Heal stand or visit our website at https://www.jamesheal.com/instrument/airpro for full details.

AquAbrasion: Wet Abrasion Tester
The James Heal AquAbrasion is a Wet Abrasion Tester based on the traditional Martindale instrument and can be used for both wet and dry testing.
The AquAbrasion is an accurate and repeatable way of conducting wet abrasion testing, which we has proven to be a crucial and often detrimental step in establishing the durability of outdoor wear.
Standard tests on outdoor garments include dry abrasion, which is not representative of the conditions they are worn in, as items can wear differently when wet.
A controlled pump system is used to dose fabric specimens with liquid which keeps the specimen wet for the duration of the test. Deionised water can be used to replicate rain, or a perspiration solution can be used to replicate sweat. AquAbrasion can also be used to test the effects of other liquids such as sunscreen or hand sanitiser on a wide range of materials.
The AquAbrasion benefits from all the usual James Heal textile testing instrument quality and product features such as a durable touchscreen, TestWise software with in-built standards for optimim lab efficiency, and ergonomic design with hinged top plate allowing easy access to all stations.

WickView: Moisture Management Tester (MMT)
WickView is a state-of-the-art instrument that uses an advanced imaging system to track and record the transfer of moisture through a garment, helping to understand its effectiveness at moisture management and wicking behaviour.
This technology has advanced more quickly than the industry test standards which use basic distance and time as a measure to assess the spread of moisture, rather than the exact movement in multiple directions on the WickView. To address this James Heal has created a NEW test method and system of grading to ensure systematic, accurate product testing in laboratories, and a software system that also enables the sharing of data and real-time video footage recorded of the actual test, electronically with colleagues or partners based in other locations.
Integrated cameras combined with intuitive TestWise software, uniquely track, record and measure the multidirectional movement of moisture through a fabric on both skin and face sides. Numerous parameters can be measured for comparison, and features in the software allow users to identify and discount aspects that may skew the results such as the effects of gravitational pull and run-off, giving the most precise results.
With the James Heal test method and grading system users can be confident that they are testing correctly to achieve the most realistic, accurate results. Testing on WickView used in conjunction with ProDry, the James Heal Dry Rate Tester, gives a complete picture of the performance of a fabric's moisture management.
A wealth of data is available within the WickView software, from watching recordings of the live test on each side of the specimen through to the resulting graphs and tables showing the grades of performance across a range of parameters. Results can be read individually or in different combinations to suit the scope of the testing, enabling users to understand and interpret their meaning in the context of the textile being tested, and where needed shared via email or online with their customers.
