Humidity derived from the thermoregulation can be seen as a body own signal which points towards the perception of too warm heat conditions. At the same time humidity can contribute to a cooler or warmer heat sensation. From a comfort perspective humidity is to be kept ideal.

Out of a co-operation between INSIDE CLIMATE, the University for Applied Sciences, Munich, and the Institute for Applied Ergonomics the SWEATOR-Climate-Assessment been developed.

SWEATOR is a quantitatively reproducible source for humidity and heat simulating the human thermoregulation process. It is available in various test body shapes and thus is highly flexible to be applied to a vast number of ready-made products of day to day life with a human/textile interface.

In combination with the SweatLOG technology the climatic processes may be tracked within various textile layers. Thus SWEATOR is not only capable of investigating single textile layers but whole textile systems and ready-made products on their thermodynamic attributes.
