Groz-Beckert KG

About us
The family-owned company Groz-Beckert, based in Albstadt, was founded in 1852 – and is today the world's leading provider of industrial machine needles, precision parts and fine tools as well as systems and services for the production and joining of textile fabrics. Moreover, the company supports its customers and partners with advice and service.
The portfolio includes 70,000 product types and covers the fields of knitting, weaving, felting, tufting, carding and sewing. This enables a variety of applications for different spheres: Besides apparel, home and domestic textiles, also technical textiles play an important role.
In its long history, the company has systematically evolved from a mere supplier of knitting and warp knitting needles to a provider of tools for almost all textile production methods. Then followed the development from precision part to system supplier – and competent innovation, process and service partner.
In all this, Groz-Beckert closely cooperates with machine builders and end users as well as with renowned institutions and universities. The best prerequisites for shaping the textile future together were created by the Technology and Development Center (TEZ), inaugurated in 2010, and the Groz-Beckert Academy, a knowledge platform which started in 2011.
In 2022 the company employed more than 8,400 people and generated a turnover of around € 743 million. Groz-Beckert operates with agencies, production and distribution affiliates in more than 150 countries around the world. Textile machine builders and end users around the world appreciate the consistently high quality and the comprehensive service of Groz-Beckert.

Our Products

Reeds
The reed has a significant influence on the fabric quality and the efficiency of the weaving process. Groz-Beckert has various reeds in its product portfolio – as of recently also special technical reeds.
The new reeds offer solutions for customers who produce fabrics with high densities – both wire and synthetic fabrics. The reeds are manufactured using state-of-the-art production methods while maintaining the highest quality standards. The finished fabrics are then used, for example, in technical filtration, membrane technology, solar cells or touch screens.

Groz-Beckert InLine
InLine stands for the established standards at Groz-Beckert – starting with identifying customer requirements and the commitment to ecology, right through to the Groz-Beckert understanding of quality.
Thanks to a new and patented manufacturing process, Groz-Beckert has developed a series of metallic card clothing that offers improved process reliability and thus a higher up-time of the card.
The new production method is also “in line” with the corporate principles of environmentally-friendly and resource-saving production.

Digital Ecosystem for the Nonwovens Industry
To address the increasing shortage of qualified personnel, the Digital Ecosystem of Groz-Beckert's product area Nonwovens offers various digital tools. The Digital Ecosystem enables nonwovens producers to optimize and automate their production processes and thus achieve a high level of process reliability and transparency. Components include an app for controlling needle board changes and improving board management, as well as an inventory-managed needle dispensing system with an automated ordering function.
The Groz-Beckert needle dispenser supports your ordering process by automatically reordering when the defined minimum level is reached. At the same time, our needle inventory offers complete transparency about the current stock levels.

INH Quality Management
The ideal handling of sewing machine needles in sewing plants
One of the biggest challenges for sewing companies is the risk of end users sustaining an injury from pieces of a broken sewing machine needle left in the garment. Such incidents can lead to compensation claims and loss of orders from brand owners and buying houses. The patented INH Quality Management (Ideal Needle Handling) developed by Groz-Beckert supports you in adhering to compliance regulations and facilitates the handling of sewing machine needles in your production plant.
INH Quality Management consists of several hardware and software components. The needle dispensing trolley and the needle return box improve the needle change process by providing all necessary tools and serving as a storage area for new needles as well as a collection point for broken and damaged needles.
To avoid manual documentation and physical storage of needle fragments, INH Quality Management offers two software components: the mobile app INH@site and the browser-based application INH@office. INH@site, installed on a tablet on the trolley, is used to take pictures of all used or broken needles and save them digitally to maintain a complete chain of evidence. INH@office is used to enter all data, such as production orders or sewing lines with machine inventory. Furthermore, it enables a data-based analysis of the needle consumption and helps to identify and solve problems such as incorrect machine settings. It also provides full transparency for buyers and brand owners, allowing them to conduct online audits.
Your benefits when using INH Quality Management:
- Digital and sustainable needle documentation:
Thanks to the fully digitalized documentation of needle changes, there is no need to stick needles on paper. This saves resources and enables environmentally friendly disposal of the needles. - Transparency and data-bases optimizations:
The digital documentation of needle changes enables a data-based analysis of the needle consumption and reveals potential for improvement. Problems such as incorrect sewing machine settings can be identified and optimized. - Increased efficiency:
The time required for needle changes and their documentation is significantly reduced. Downtimes in production can be avoided. - Reliable and standardizes processes:
The standardized process for handling needles ensures that the right needle is always used on the right sewing machine. - Stronger customer relationship:
The end-to-end process takes into account both internal requirements and the buyers’ compliance regulations. It is generally applicable.
