We provide statutory accident insurance cover for about 3.8 million people in more than 200,000 member businesses.
Our responsibilities include:
Occupational safety and health protection
We provide our member businesses with support in the areas of occupational safety and health protection. Our employees visit, advise and run seminars in the member companies. We also investigate the causes of occupational accidents, make measurements (noise, hazardous substances, etc.) at the workplace and test machines and equipment.
Rehabilitation and compensation
We ensure an optimal curative treatment once an occupational or commuting accident has occurred. Our first priority is the speedy and full medical recovery of the injured and ill person.
Liability
We assume our member businesses' liability for the health-related consequences of occupational accidents and diseases. We also indemnify the employees against liability inter se.

Seminars
Check out our seminar database [available in German] and find the right seminar for you in the blink of an eye. We are happy to receive your booking requests online. Please note that all events/seminars are held in German language only.
Participation in the seminars is free of charge for those insured by the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the energy, textile, electrical and media products sectors (abbreviated BG ETEM). You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt once you have submitted your booking request. In a next step, we will verify if you are insured by our BG ETEM. You will then receive a binding booking confirmation by email. Please keep in mind that the booking process was completed successfully only if you have received a booking confirmation.
BG ETEM wishes to facilitate seminar participation also for insured persons with health impairments. Please feel free to contact us. Our employees will get in touch with you.
