About us
For more than 100 years, Atlas has been a leader in materials durability testing, offering a complete line of weathering testing instrumentation, laboratory, and outdoor testing services.
In 1956, Atlas revolutionized the industry by introducing the first filtered xenon-arc test chamber – XENOTEST 150 - for assessing color fastness in textiles - since ever one of the most critical aspects. Until today, Atlas has continued to lead the field, driving continuous innovation in instrument design and standardizing test methods.
Xenon-arc testing remains the gold standard worldwide for evaluating textile durability. Textiles undergo exposure to indoor daylight conditions and elevated temperatures to ensure accurate assessment of color fastness. On the other hand, weather fastness testing is indispensable for outdoor applications, subjecting textiles to sunlight, heat, and rain.
Atlas lightfastness and weathering instruments (Ci Weather-Ometer, XENOTEST, SUNTEST) are designed to meet global industry standards, including ISO, ASTM, DIN, JIS and others.
Our mission: to enable our clients to accelerate their expertise in developing world class products.

SUNTEST Xenon Weathering and Lightfastness Testing Instrument
The SUNTEST XLS+ is used to check for property changes of materials and products caused by sunlight, temperature and moisture in a short period of time. The aging which, outdoor or indoor, may take place over months or years, such as fading, yellowing or loss of strength, can often be simulated within weeks inside a SUNTEST.

Xenotest 440 Xenon Weathering and Lightfastness Testing Instrument
The Xenotest 440 is a highly versatile xenon weathering instrument for a variety of materials. Designed for fast and economical testing, the Xenotest 440 utilizes XenoLogic™, a revolutionary new twin-lamp operating technology which enables high irradiance levels of 120 W/m2 of total UV radiation. In addition, XenoLogic provides extended lamp service life. With this new technology, the two xenon lamps combined can last over 4000 hours under standard testing levels of 40-60 W/m2.
Atlas Xenotest 440 is a xenon arc based lightfastness/instrument. The Xenotest rotating specimen rack instruments are preferred for textile testing with their superior uniformity of the specimen exposure to heat, light and moisture. Xenotest models are standards in the textile industry due to the typically small test specimen size and short exposure durations of many tests.
