PERICOAT SF/AS is a polymer compound used for the production of anti-slip coatings. It can be applied for manufacturing technical textiles as well as home textiles. Fields of application are for example anti-slip mats for cargo securing in trucks or containers, back coatings of carpets, mats or rugs, non-slip coatings for upholstery covers, seat or chair cushions or as anti-slip product for decoration textiles, placemats or table runners.

The polymer compound PERICOAT SF/AS contains – apart from a foam stabilizer – all necessary components for a stable foam coating. As stabilizer we recommend PERICOAT STABILIZER STA. For the production of colored foam coatings pigment dyes, such as PERICOLOR pigments, can be added to the coating paste. Before knife coating the coating paste has to be foamed mechanically. After coating the foam calendered coldly. This helps to increase the abrasion resistance of the anti-slip coating.

PERICOAT SF/AS is a polymer compound for foam coatings. Except the foam stabilizer, all additives are included that are necessary for foam coatings. Due to the addition of PERICOAT STABILIZER STA, a foam stabilizer, very stable foams can be achieved. Coatings with PERICOAT SF/AS are characterized by their extraordinary anti-slip properties. They are not sticky and therefore two side coatings are possible. Furthermore, the coatings are very resistant to hydrolysis as well as abrasion.

PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL consists of small glass beads which are used for the production of reflective prints and coatings.

With the special products PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL, small glass pearls, and PERICOAT REFLEX BASE, a polymer compound, reflecting effects can be produced. The products can be used in textile printing for reflex prints but also in coating for creating fashionable highlights or safety-related details. It is possible to print reflecting marks on jackets, bags, rucksacks, sports clothes and workwear. This way, students or joggers can be seen better in the beam of headlights at dusk or at night. Reflecting textiles are also used in the field of Protech for improving the visibility and safety on safety vests, high-visibility clothing, PPE, or on police, fire department or Red Cross uniforms.

If reflecting printings or coatings which are created with PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL are lit by headlights in the dark, the embedded micro glass beads reflect the light towards the direction of the incoming light. The printings or coatings shine brightly and are highly visible. This helps to improve traffic safety significantly.

For the creation of colored reflex effects PERICOLOR pigments can be added to the printing or coating pastes.

The micro glass beads contained in PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL reflect rays of light. The diameter of the glass pearls is about 60 μm. For the production of reflecting printings and coatings PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL is mixed with the basic compound PERICOAT REFLEX BASE. PERICOAT REFLEX BASE is a polymer compound which is self-crosslinking at 150 °C. The product forms soft and flexible films. After crosslinking the prints or coatings show a good resistance to washing.

PERIXEN FDA is a completely biodegradable, health-compatible lubricant for sewing threads. The product is suitable for the production of sustainable textiles as well as for the use in the food sector.

Ready-made textiles can only be declared as sustainable products, if all the used materials and accessories as well as the applied finishing auxiliaries are fully sustainable. PERIXEN FDA is our lubricant which can be used for sustainable sewing yarn. The product can be used in the biological cycles over and over again.

Sewing threads which are intended for the use in the food-processing sector must comply with the European Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004, article 3. PERIXEN FDA meets this European Regulation in many applications. In principle, threads finished with PERIXEN FDA can be used in the food industry.

Special properties

PERIXEN FDA is a lubricant for sewing threads which is applied cold by lick roll technique or by precision pump. The product is used for the lubrication of sewing threads made of polyester, polyamide and cellulosic fibers.

PERIXEN FDA provides sewing threads with the necessary smoothness and heat resistance. Threads treated with this product have an even and low friction value. The good frictional properties avoid a stick slip effect. The heat of the needle caused by high speed sewing is absorbed by the layer of PERIXEN FDA. This way the sewing of yarns made of synthetic fibers is possible even under severe conditions.

Compared to lubricants on emulsion basis the product has the advantage of being non-aqueous and therefore no drying is necessary after its application.

Textiles finished with our fluorine-free finishing agent PERIGUARD WRC have very good water-repellent properties. By an impregnation, waterproofing and functionalization with PERIGUARD WRC textiles made of cotton or cotton blends receive excellent wash-resistant hydrophobic effects.

For outdoor and sportswear applications oil and dirt repellency are usually not required. For this reason, the use of ecologically disputed perfluorinated and polyfluorinated carbons (PFC) is not necessary. The required hydrophobic finishing can be achieved with fluorocarbon-free products. PFCs are extremely stable compounds. The result is that they are not biodegradable and pose a health risk. However, effective dirt, oil and chemical repellent finishes on textiles which are used for example in the field of personal protective equipment (PPE), can usually only be achieved with these fluorine-based compounds.

PERIGUARD WRC is used for the water-repellent finishing of cellulosic and synthetic fibers. To achieve an optimum water repellency, the textile fabrics should be free of the following residual substances:

• alkali
• surface-active substances (for example surfactants)
• sizes
• lubricants
• preparations

PERIGUARD WRC is a fluorocarbon-free water repellent for the hydrophobic, rainproof finishing mainly for cellulosic fibers and their blends with synthetic fibers. Finishes with PERIGUARD WRC have a good wash resistance. For textiles finished with PERIGUARD WRC an ironing or tumbling process after domestic washing is recommended to restore the maximum hydrophobic properties. By the addition of PERICOAT CROSSLINKER DP not only the wash resistance but also the Laundry-Air-Dry effect (washing without subsequent ironing) can be often further improved. Due to its very low yellowing tendency PERIGUARD WRC is suitable for white fabrics.

The sizing agent compound EKAGUM R is very versatile and can be applied on warp yarns made of all natural or synthetic fibers. During the sizing process EKAGUM R offers many advantages in processing and handling. Yarns sized with EKAGUM R are very soft and smooth, they hardly cause any dust and can be optimally woven even on high performance weaving looms.

EKAGUM R forms high-tenacity, elastic, and flexible sizing films which are adhering excellently to the sized yarns. Yarns sized with EKAGUM R are very soft and smooth, creating fabrics with a nice and even appearance.

EKAGUM R is a powdery, biodegradable product which can be applied on yarns of all kind of fibers. The compound contains a sophisticated combination of different polymers, polyvinyl alcohol and polysaccharides. It is mainly used as a single product.

EKAGUM R offers advantages in sizing and weaving but also in dyeing and finishing.

Being a compound EKAGUM R offers clear advantages in the preparation of the sizing liquors, such as simple recipes, easy handling and low viscosity variation. Furthermore, EKAGUM R features a high stability against water hardness and mechanical action. An economic plus of EKAGUM R is the simple adjustment of residual sizing solutions to new concentrations, so that old liquors do not have to be discarded.

It is sufficient to simply wash woven fabrics sized with EKAGUM R before dyeing and finishing. Due to its high acid and alkali stability the product does not tend to precipitate and can also be directly washed off in the alkaline bath. An enzymatic desizing is not required.

Special properties

EKAGUM R is a pulverized sizing preparation with high adhesive strength and yield. It can be applied on all spun yarns.

EKAGUM R improves the abrasion resistance of warp yarns made of natural and synthetic staple fibers and reduces the abrasion of fibers during weaving. The product is characterized by excellent adhesion. It forms tear-resistant, tough and elastic sizing films.

Using EKAGUM R offers a high energy saving potential. As the size is easily soluble in water it can be removed from the fabric by a simple wash process, also in alkaline medium. The product is biodegradable.
