The IVGT e.V. (Industrial Association for Finishing – Yarns – Fabrics – Technical Textiles) with its headquarters in Frankfurt, represents the technical and economic interests of its member companies in the areas of textile raw materials, finishing, yarns, fabrics, nonwovens, narrow fabrics, braids and technical textiles. The association thus represents more than 60% of the German textile industry. The association also includes manufacturers of textile machinery, chemicals, fibers, filaments and raw materials, as well as service providers such as research institutes, laboratories and consultants.

As an industrial association, we contribute with our work in a significant way to maintain and strengthen the general framework for textile production. We support all professional, economic and political concerns of our member companies towards national, European and international institutions.

Through our work to protect and enforce the interests of our member companies, we draw attention to the needs of the textile industry. We find solutions and achieve acceptance by the respective authorities. We accomplish this task among other things with our membership and collaboration at the Federation of German Industry (BDI), at the German Textile and Fashion Confederation, in the scientific councils of textile research institutes, in trade fair councils and in DIN-CEN-ISO-Standardisation committees. Our memberships to the worldwide federations as the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), the International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO), the Discover natural Fibres Initiative (DNFI) and to the European organisations (e.g.: EURATEX, Euro­pean Tech­nol­o­gy Plat­form for the Future of Tex­tiles and Cloth­ing, Textile ETP) enhance our commitment.

As a founding member of the European Technical Textile Club (ETT-Club), together with the partner associations CLUBTEX, FEDUSTRIA, Sistema Moda Italia (SMI) and TEXCLUBTEC we form the largest textile manufacturer network in Europe.
