Interactive, bio-based surfaces for the user-oriented car inner space
Beschreibung
Automotive technology is in a state of upheaval. In the field of Human
Machine Interface, the increasing interaction between vehicles,
users, and the Internet results in an increment of the controls
needed, which ultimately makes the vehicle heavier. An
interdisciplinary team from the fields of chemistry, industrial design,
computer science and textile technology wants to develop lighter and
more intuitive operator layer consoles through innovative textile user
interfaces to reduce the complexity of the car interior components.
Through green design features, the environmentally conscious user
should be able to more easily identify and select sustainable
materials and products. A strong networking between the industry
and the Reutlingen teaching and re-search center IMAT boosts an
efficient transfer of scientific findings and ideas into marketable
