Meltex is a family-run business with 40+ years of experience in developing, sourcing, manufacturing, and distributing a wide range of technical fabrics. Meltex Performance Fabrics Co., Ltd. delivers services to customers worldwide, specialising in a wide range of fabrics for the military, automotive, and many other industries and sectors.
With offices in the UK, Thailand, and China, we have supplied textiles from Thailand and China for over twenty years. Meltex Performance Fabrics Co., Ltd. is based in Thailand and is run by Terry Meltham, who has been in Asia for over 30 years, sourcing textiles from all over Asia.
Our specialties are high-tenacity nylon, polyester, and fabric dyed, printed, coated, and IRR dyed. In addition, we produce a maximum of 8 colour IRR prints in China and Thailand. We have worked with our customers to develop some of the most durable workwear and military fabrics in the world. Over the past ten years, we have also been producing fully made-up police and army vests and pouches in China, Thailand, and Cambodia.
We have airjet texturizing along with Rapier weaving and dyeing, with an emphasis on controlling the environment. Our coating capabilities include PU, breathable PU, flame retardant, TPU, and three-layer lamination.
Our sister company, Meltex Textiles Limited, is based in the UK and looks after our European sales. The Middle East, Asia, and Australasia are looked after by our office in Thailand.
Sustainability is a key focus in our manufacturing processes. That’s why we follow global production standards to make sure we lessen our impact on the environment during and after production without compromising the performance of our products. We are now also offering recycled polyester alternatives to many of our standard polyester products to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible.
All of our fabrics are supplied with full specifications and tested using BS EN ISO or ASTM as standard. We also offer bespoke testing where requested or required; this can include specialist military testing and flame retardancy testing.

High Tenacity Polyester
Producing high-tenacity polyester allows us to supply fabric with higher tear and tensile results than standard polyesters. Polyester offers better light fastness, and UV properties than nylon. This makes high-tenacity polyesters ideal for use in military applications. Our 1000D HT polyester Oxford complies with BS EN ISO 388 level 1 in plain dyed and coated form. Our 100D HT polyester is ideal for use in outdoor sports applications where good UV properties are required as well as a range of other uses.
Polyester Fabrics
Meltex has a very good product range of polyester dyed and printed fabrics offering a wide range of coatings. We also produce wider-width polyesters ranging from 150cm to 183cm. Polyester fabrics are traditionally used in sportswear applications due to polyester's quick-drying properties. The use of polyesters is also preferred in the soft furnishings business for indoor and outdoor use due to its ability to withstand high heat settings which is required for sublimation printing and UV properties when used in outdoor applications.

High Tenacity Nylon
Meltex currently produces dyed, IRR-dyed, printed, IRR-printed, coated, FRPU coated and laminated high-tenacity nylons. We have the facilities to test our fabric in-house and have access to outside labs including SGS and CNAS. Our quality inspections are carried out by our dedicated staff in the Suzhou area of China. We offer a wide range of high-tenacity nylons ranging from 30D up to 1600D. Our flame-retardant coatings comply with FMVSS: 302, BS EN ISO 10525:2002 and ASTM D1230: 2010 as well as various other flame-retardant standards. We also offer anti-static fabrics using NEGASTAT yarn to pass BS EN ISO 1149. Our fabrics are used for government contracts around the world the automotive and aviation industries.
Nylon
We produce a wide range of standard nylon fabrics for various end uses, from dyed only, to printed and coated in various weaves and weights. One of our most popular nylons is the traditional 210D Oxford. Nylon is preferred in the medical, automotive industries and military as it is a lightweight yet strong fabric. The benefits of using nylon fabrics are their excellent abrasion and wear and tear resistance with high tensile and compressive strength. Nylon is resistant to water, mildew, and chemicals it also maintains its shape and strength over time/continued use.

Hi-Visibility
We offer polyester/cotton and 100% polyester fabrics certified to BS EN ISO 20471 used primarily in the workwear sector. Our hi-visibility range can be supplied dyed, dyed + DWR, coated, FRPU coated and breathable coated. All our BS EN ISO 20471 fabrics are certified by SGS. We offer twills, satins, and oxford weaves as well as a 100D yarn that can be used in a wide range of applications.
We also produce a high-tenacity 1000D polyester, producing fabrics with high-tenacity yarn enables us to certify the fabric to BS EN ISO 20471 and BS EN ISO 388 level 1 as well as supply a fabric with good tear and tensile results. This fabric is suitable for use in protective vests, molle carriers, and workwear which is suitable for the police and immigration services.
