In the segment of paper machine clothing, we are market leader worldwide with our Grilon fibers. The spinning process developed by EMS-GRILTECH allows us to produce fiber specialties which enable our customers to manufacture new products. The potential for innovation using flat, fusible, large count and bi-component fibers is far from exhausted. The world's first thermoplastic polyurethane fiber (TPU) for nonwovens has been newly developed and launched on the market. With our Nexylon FR fiber we are sole supplier worldwide for flame-retardant thermoplastic polyamide fibers. With two production locations for fibers (Germany and Switzerland) we are able to satisfy customer requirements reliably and fast.

Grilon yarns are multifunctional yarns for innovative products and smart processes. They are used as separation, bonding and reinforcing yarns and can be processed with all textile technologies. Besides the various applications in the textile and garment industries, our Grilon yarns excel at numerous technical / composite applications.

EMS-GRILTECH presents with its Grilon fibers and yarns custom-designed solutions for the bonding of technical textiles.

Griltex Copolyester and Copolyamide adhesives are used for coating and laminating technical fabrics, nonwovens, clothing textiles and non-textile substrates.

Reinforced Technical Textiles

Grilon melt bonding yarns and binder fibers, Grilon bi-component binder fibers and Griltex hot melt adhesives are key components in the reinforcement of technical textile constructions.

Light Weight Constructions and Composites

Our products are used as production aids or as matrix material in fiber reinforced composite parts.

Special Grilon binder yarns have been developed for the stabilization of carbon or glass fiber fabrics. The binder fiber is used as a processing aid in the preforming step of the RTM process (resin transfer molding). Griltex adhesives are used in form of suspensions, powder or granules for the consolidation of unidirectional tapes and stabilization of fabrics.

The impact strength of the final composite will be strongly improved by using Griltex hot melt adhesives or Grilon melt bonding yarn. Rigidity, heat resistance and transparency are the benefits in utilizing Griltex polyamides or Grilon fibers for the production of thermoplastic composites.

Bonding of Smooth Surfaces

Griltex Copolyesters are used to bond smooth surfaces such as PET or aluminium. The flexibility of the adhesives compensates the tension between substrates with different expansion coefficients.

Protective Apparel and Work Wear

Nexylon FR is the world's first flame-retardant polyamide fiber. Using this fiber the working life of flame-resistant protective wear can be significantly increased. Wearing comfort is also much higher with its soft touch. There is potential for other interesting applications in technical textiles requiring inherent flame resistance.
