Since its foundation by William Barnet in 1898, the company has been in the tradition of a classic trading company with a global network that has grown over decades, but at the same time has actively developed into a production company in recent decades.
Today, the company produces short cut and staple fibers as well as high performance recycled fibers made of para-aramid, meta-aramid, PBO, PAN/OPAN carbon, HMPE, etc. and the patented antistatic yarn nega-stat®. The yarn product portfolio includes high-tenacity polyester yarns, Polamid 6 and 6.6, as well as high-performance yarns, e.g. made of para-aramid, HMPE or PEEK.
In the course of this, the job profiles of the sales staff also changed. Whereas in the past they were exclusively involved in the purchase and sale of commodities, such as textile fibers, yarns and industrial production residues, today they are also the contact for technical issues and application questions, are involved in the development processes of the respective customers and also provide advice when it comes to sustainability and recycling.
In combination with constant quality controls and material tests in the company's own laboratory and close cooperation with research institutes in the textile sector, Barnet is a guarantor for process reliability, a partner for innovative new developments and a supplier of finishes and specialties for high-class textile applications.
Modernity and continuous development of the portfolio make Barnet a reliable and flexible partner to this day, always focusing on the needs of the world markets.

nega-stat ®
THE DEFINING STANDARD IN STATIC DISSIPATIVE YARNS
nega-stat ® P190 is a fine -filament bi-component yarn. Each filament has a unique, trilobally shaped conducting core surrounded by a sheath of Polyester.
nega-stat® is introduced into textile materials in defined grid and stripe patterns to provide optimum protection in a wide range of industrial end-use situations against the risks and hazards caused by static electricity.
nega-Stat® yarns are used in products and industrial end-uses, both, where full grounding is essential and/or in industrial applications where it is not possible to ensure complete grounding.
Fabrics containing nega-stat ® P190 provide optimum performance in a wide range of end-uses from cleanroom clothing to car upholstery; from bedding to FR protective clothing and from bacterial control clothing to copier brushes.
A range of nega-stat® yarns are offered to complement Nega-Stat® P190 where a specific end-use performance or characteristic is required.

variety in make-up and color
We are distributing, trading & processing various standard multifilament yarns in PET, PA6, PA66, Viscose and PP. Our focus is on high tenacity, FDY (fully drawn yarns), POY (partially oriented yarns) and DTY/ATY (texturized yarns) which are available in first grade quality but also in different quality levels, in various colors or as recycled yarns.
We offer different options like regular, low or high shrink versions and added functions like flame retardancy, UV stabilisation, heat resistance or FDA approval are available. We can offer customized makes-ups for different applications. Challenge us on product developments. We are here for you at an early stage of your product innovation and development.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE YARNS

One focus at Barnet is on technical solutions for high end applications with short lead times and warehouse service. Therefore we are able to offer a wide range of high-performance yarns such as Para-Aramid, Meta-Aramid, HMPE, and other specialties like PPS, PEEK, LCP, etc. as multifilament or spun-yarn.
They are available in first grade quality but also in various quality levels, in colors or some even as recycled yarns. In a close cooperation with our partners we offer customized product solutions.

Our recycled polymers fully meet the requirements of sustainability in the production of packaging and plastic products. We actively purchase material that we recycle or return our customers‘ production waste back into the production chain. This helps to reduce waste that otherwise could end up in the oceans or that has to be incinerated to harm the climate.
