Found in 1952, MESDAN SPA is an Italy-based, ISO 9001 and 14001 certified manufacturer of joining devices (for regular and technical yarns) and laboratory equipment for all the textiles companies.
MESDAN is distinguished by:
- Its leadership in the production of yarn splicers by virtue of the many patents owned by MESDAN in the field of air/water yarn joining;
- A primary position among the biggest producers of testing equipment for the laboratory analysis of textiles;
- A capillary worldwide sales and after-sales network of agents and distributors spread all over the main textile markets; Its headquarters in Puegnago del Garda (BS), a subsidiary in India.

Since the very beginning MESDAN has invested significant resources in R&D in order to offer innovative products to better service the textile industry, resulting in the accumulation of a remarkable and unrivalled knowledge in the field of yarn joining techniques and fine mechanics in about 70 years of activity. A qualified team of technicians and engineers follows closely the evolvement of textile technologies and it is responsible for designing, prototyping, testing and final production of new products together with a team of selected external consultants.
MESDAN designs most important components of its devices. The company uses the most modern machinery and technologies, which guarantees the highest level of quality and production efficiency.
A stringent quality control is applied on all materials entering the plant as well as on all components manufactured in the MESDAN factory.
In addition, every single joining device or laboratory instrument is fully tested before shipment in compliance with a strict procedure, which ensures its perfect functioning, by simulating the operating conditions at the end user’s plant.
The final quality control of all MESDAN products guarantees superior quality, performance uniformity and consistency.
MESDAN is worldwide leader in the production of joining devices for textile industry with a complete range of splicers and knotters, both in automatic and hand-operated versions, to be fitted on all types of textile machine to join yarns of different nature (in type of fiber, structure and spinning system).
Technical yarns and rovings, made of high technical fibres like glass, carbon, aramid, polyester, etc can be joined with the MESDAN’s Jointair pneumatic splicers.
Hand operated equipment are used in a large variety of applications, such technical weaving, poltrusion, filament winding, LFT, sewing threads, tyre cord, etc. to avoid knots and improve the productivity of the downstream processes.
A rail-mounted application system, the ATS (Air Track Supply) system, was designed to be adoptex to the manual machines (winders, twister, creels, etc.) to improve productivity, reliability and durability.
Additionally, MESDAN offers complete laboratory solutions for all textile companies, from spinning to garment production, R&D and educational institutes and for the technical textiles in general.
Testing equipment for checking the physical properties and the behaviour to abrasion, tearing, flame exposure, comfort, etc. of protective cloths, uniforms, sportswear, and so on, in order to evaluate their quality standards and compliance with the international standards, are part of the range.
All equipment are designed, manufactured and calibrated to accomplish the most important international testing methods. A service of official calibration and certification is also available.

Frontal panel with user-friendly design characterised by:
- wide LCD touch screen display for easy setting of testing parameters;

JOINTAIR 110M
JOINTAIR 110M - SPLICER FOR FINE AND DELICATE FILAMENT YARNS with a count range from 20 Dtex to 4000 Dtex
JOINTAIR 110M is specially equipped to splice fine and delicate continuous filament yarns, including P.O.Y. and L.O.Y. within a count range from 20 Dtex to 4000 Dtex. Highly finished yarn contact surfaces together with special frictioners enable parallel fibres to be joined without filament damage. Special scissors prolong the working life of the 110M even when applied to such fibres as Aramid and glass.
Specifically conceived for hand-held use, the splicing body is protected by a special shockresistant shell made of thermoplastic to reduce damages in case of accidental falls.
JOINTAIR 110M is not fitteable on the ATS system for which JOINTAIR 110R, is available, with the same joining capacity .

JOINTAIR 116G - 116K
SPLICER for FILAMENT ROVINGS and TECHNICAL heavy count yarns
JOINTAIR 116G and JOINTAIR® 116K belong to the new generation of manually operated splicers, specifically designed for the joining of coarse count yarns and filament rovings, within the range of 1000 to 5000 Tex (116G) or 200 to 3500 Tex (116K), typically made of glass fibres, carbon fibres and roving. Cutting system specifically designed for high tenacity yarns.
Slight pressure of the operating trigger activates an automatic joining process where all functions are controlled by a pneumatic circuit. JOINTAIR 116G and 116K can have wide application when used in conjunction with the A.T.S. system on a variety of textile machines.

ISO Flammability Lab ** Code 3392E **
Instrument to determine the flammability resistance of textiles and the flame propagation rate onto vertically oriented textile materials.
Suitable to test: protective fabrics; technical fabrics in general; clothes and furnishing fabrics.
The instrument can be also used with toys, as well as with both natural and artificial leather.
ISO Flammability Lab is fully automatic, since it is equipped with a PLC that controls and records the movement of the burner, the distance of the same from the samples, and the flame propagation time from one set distance to the other one.
Equipped with serial port for connection with Personal Computer, and for data storing and print.
Optional:
Radiator (Code 3392E.40) to analyse the flammability resistance of textile materials exposed to the heat of a radiator (as required by the EN 13772).
