Leister is a technology leader in various market segments.
Our core technologies - hot air, extrusion, laser and infrared - are crucial for the long-term success of our global customers. Leister experts from research and development (R&D) and product management work closely together to continuously develop the extensive product portfolio.
Expertise
Decades of experience of our highly qualified employees make Leister a skilled partner of global renown. Through great passion and in close coordination with our customers, we develop new products and continuously optimize our processes. In this way, our global customers benefit from quality, reliability, innovation and cost-effectiveness to secure their market position and competitiveness.
Hot air
Hot air is one of Leister’s core technologies. In hot air welding, thermal energy is supplied to the material to be welded (thermoplastics) via controlled heated air. The necessary pressure is applied using rollers. Leister offers hand tools, automatic welding machines and welding machines with innovative hot air technology.
Whether it’s in an industrial production line, a large construction site, a workshop, at home or in a garden. Leister’s hot air product range provides professionals from all over the world with the right tools and accessories.
Hot air blowers and air heaters from Leister are used in many different industrial production processes. For example, for shrinking foils, sealing packages or roasting coffee. There is hardly an industry that does not benefit from the diverse opportunities. Whether it is because the process works exclusively with hot air or because hot air makes it more efficient, safer and more environmentally friendly. Leister offers the right blower for every industrial production line.
Infrared
Powerful KRELUS infrared heaters from Leister are ideally suited for individual, customer-specific infrared solutions. They impress with high radiation intensity, easy controllability, short response times and customized solutions with optimal economic efficiency.
KRELUS infrared emitters are used worldwide in various industrial processes. Whether for dip coating in the textile and paper industry, for drying varnish and paint on metal or for embossing artificial leather.
Infrared rays from infrared heaters have a drying effect like the sun. Due to their direct heat transfer, they dry in a dust-free and direct manner.
The medium-wave IR radiation of KRELUS infrared radiators is also well absorbed by water. It can be heated directly by infrared radiation. This makes drying processes, for example, even more efficient.
Lasers
Plastics can be joined particle-free and permanently using laser technology from Leister. This is a great advantage that facilitates new manufacturing methods in automotive engineering, medical technology, sensor technology, electronics and microsystems technology, among others.
GLOBO-Welding, patented and awarded by Leister, is unique worldwide. In this process, three-dimensional plastic parts are welded in a single operation.
A particularly innovative laser joining process is the permanent joining of different materials such as metal and plastic. Laser optics from Leister are used to produce lighter components in the automotive industry, for example, which are also more cost-effective than solid metal parts. Hybrid components produced in this way can be used as lightweight components in vehicles.
Extrusion
In extrusion welding, the materials to be welded are preheated with hot air and joined by adding plasticized filler material, the so-called plastic extrudate. The plasticizing process is carried out in the extruder screw.
For plastic welding in tank and container production, thermoplastics are thermally connected to one another with heat and pressure. The quality of the welding seams and successful, efficient work is greatly affected by the choice of the machines and devices used.
Hand extruders from Leister are in demand worldwide in apparatus and container construction as well as in underground engineering because, in addition to their quality and durability, they are particularly quiet as well as ergonomically designed and lightweight. In addition, they are particularly impressive in the two key areas: Welding consistency and process safety.
Some Leister extruder models have been especially designed for automated extrusion welding in industrial production. They can be attached to a robot arm and controlled remotely via a corresponding interface.
Hot Wedge
Leister offers two different hot-wedge technologies: hot-wedge welding and combi-wedge welding.
With hot-wedge welding, a wedge is heated by heating cartridges. Subsequently, the wedge transfers the generated heat directly to the material to be welded. Therefore, this process is also suitable for thicker thermoplastics.
With combi-wedge welding, prewarming is accomplished using hot air, and the actual welding process using the wedge welder. The preheating air also partially takes on the cleaning of the material to be welded. Combi-wedge welding machines from Leister impress worldwide with their innovative edge, quality and durability.
