Opinions from the sector

Christina Mallin, Marketing Manager, Oerlikon Textile GmbH & Co. KG, Switzerland: “We welcomed significantly more visitors to our stand than in previous years and held lots of very good discussions with important customers. In view of the continuous large flow of visitors, we are thinking of enlarging our stand at the next Techtextil, which is the most important fair for nonwovens and fibres. For us, the fair is of great international importance. Recently, we took part in Techtextil North America and will also be taking part in Techtextil India in October.”

Laurence Mauro-Morisetti, Marketing Communication Representative, Du Pont de Nemours International S.A., Switzerland: “This was our first time back at Techtextil since 2007 and we are very pleased with the results. We see how important Techtextil is for us. For Du Pont, there is already no doubt that we will take part again as exhibitors in 2013. Business at the fair has been very good. The number of visitors to our stand and the quality of the contacts made have been excellent. There has been a good mixture of visitors from Germany, Europe and East Europe. With our application examples, we have been able to show here the innovative products that can be made with our fibres.”

Peter Maria Bajorat, General Manager, Alpha-Fit GmbH, Germany: “Techtextil is the most important fair for my company. This is the third time we have exhibited here and, for us, it is one of the best opportunities to make new contacts.”

Claus Habbicht, Sales & Marketing Manager ROOF, Polygiene, Sweden: “The range of potential applications opened up by the segments represented here is enormous. Hence, exhibitors can also broaden their horizons and investigate new areas of application for their products. Nowhere is that easier than here. Thus, Techtextil is much more important than it would seem at first glance.”

Gertrud Müller, General Manager, Association of the Technical Textiles, Roller Shutters and Sun Protection Industry (Industrieverband Technische Textilien, Rolladen, Sonnenschutz e. V. – ITRS), Germany: “We are very satisfied. The positive mood was tangible throughout the entire fair and we were able to welcome not only lots of visitors to our stand but also a large number of members. Another positive aspect was that we were able to pass on numerous external inquiries to our members. For us, taking part in the fair was certainly worthwhile.”

Tim Elissen, Sales Director Technical Products, Prym Fashion, Germany: “We have been extremely pleasantly surprised by the course of business at the fair. Our stand was very busy from early in the morning to late in the afternoon. We made contact with our target groups, which mainly comprise manufacturers and processors of canvas and advertising materials. We have been coming to Techtextil for many years to show our latest products. This year, they included a new press fastener and, for the first time, products especially for Texprocess visitors. Thus, we benefited from new groups of customers who did not come to Techtextil in the past.”

Sabine Duttenhofer, Manager Global Communications, Freudenberg Nonwovens, Germany, and member of the Techtextil Advisory Council: “We are more than pleased with the number of visitors to our stand, especially on the last day. The combination of Techtextil/Texprocess opens up new opportunities for future presentations. All in all, Frankfurt is an impressive venue and although Techtextil is a day shorter than competing fairs, it is bigger and more extensive. The fair itself is well organised and oriented fully towards the needs of the exhibitors.”

Werner Zirnzak, Deputy General Manager, Association of the Yarns, Woven Fabrics and Technical Textiles Industry (Industrieverband Garne - Gewebe - Technische Textilien e.V. – IVGT), Germany: “The atmosphere is very good, the trade visitor quality excellent and the discussions oriented very much towards success. For us, Techtextil here in Frankfurt is the world’s foremost event for the sector and a must!”

Gregory Vas Nunes, President Europe, Performance Fibres, Luxemburg: “The fair was really very well attended. The positive outlook of the market as a whole had an impact on the entire event. For us, taking part was highly productive and generated lots of synergies. All in all, the fair was extremely well organised and we are looking forward to coming back in 2013 when we anticipate an even bigger success.”
